March 2024 Newsletter

Update From Director Alex Bennett!

Happy March MML Students!

Happy Easter! March has been a month with so many new students. Last month I sent out a thank you to a bunch of students who helped with photos and gave reviews. I’m happy to say that their generosity helped immensely. Thank you again to all those who helped.

Instrument Care Month!

April is “Instrument Care Month”. We’re planning on putting out a bunch of videos and articles related to taking care of your instrument. From cleaning and hardware replacement, to tuning, and even learning how to take care of your voice and ears! We’ll be dropping articles and videos all month on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. If you haven’t subscribed or liked any of those pages, it would mean the world to us if you did as we try to grow our social media team!

Student of the Month: Andrew Abramowski

Andrew was chosen as the student of the month for his extremely hard work. Andrew always come to lessons very well prepared and with a great attitude. Despite his young age and short time playing, he’s already worked on some incredibly challenging songs including Jump by Van Halen and Tom Sawyer by Rush. Andrew has a very bright future for himself as a drummer if he continues his hard work and good practice method.

Instrument: Drums
Time Playing: 8 Months
Favorite Song Learned So Far: Jump – Van Halen
Favorite Activities Outside of Music: Playing Baseball and Basketball

Dinner’s on Us?

Milwaukee Music Lessons also added a Referral system in place last month. Use the card and give to someone you know who might want to take lessons. If they take lessons, you each get a $20 gift card to your favorite restaurant, movie theater, or Amazon!

Alex’s Music Tech of the Month:

Fractal FM9 Turbo

I have been a fan of the Fractal units for a long time. (I’ve owned 3 of them!) This little pedalboard believe it or not is a complete guitar system. It transforms your guitar sound to be just like a real amplifier plus all of the effects you could ever want. They used to sell the brain and pedalboard part separately. Now they put everything into one convenient little system. I don’t personally own this unit but I’ve been tempted many times to grab it since once you own one, you’ll never need to buy another guitar amp again….
