We teach a wide variety of styles, from rock, pop, jazz, and blues to metal and country – on electric and acoustic guitars.
How qualified is your guitar instructor?
Our guitar and music instructor has received education from high end learning institutions from Berklee College of Music to our own local University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He has played across the US, played on many records, and brings over 10 years of professional performance and teaching experience to your lessons.
What will I learn from guitar classes at Milwaukee Music Lessons?
Beginner guitar students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, reading, and theory. Our instructor balances musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson presents a new and technical challenge or theory concept, and ends with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We can use a wide variety of guitar books or use our own custom material to get you playing. Students are encouraged to bring suggestions and song ideas so they’re always excited about what they’re learning next.
Do I need to purchase a guitar to learn the instrument?
We teach acoustic and electric guitar here (for your convenience, students can use one of ours at their first lesson). But to practice at home, you will need a guitar. If students need help selecting or purchasing an instrument, we’re more than happy to help you find just what you need.
