Alex's Cool Gear: Bluetooth Page Turner Pedals
More musicians are using tablets instead of paper sheet music, especially for lessons, rehearsals, and live shows. The problem is that you still have to turn the page. A Bluetooth page turner pedal solves that by letting you move through digital music with your foot, so your hands can stay on your instrument.
There are several versions available. AirTurn makes simple two-pedal models like the DUO 500, while PageFlip offers options such as the Butterfly and Firefly. Some models simply move forward and backward, while others add extra pedals, lights for dark stages, or buttons that can control other parts of a music app.
For a pianist, that can mean playing through a whole song without stopping. Guitarists can keep both hands on the instrument, and singers can move through lyrics or set lists without reaching for the screen. It is a small upgrade, but for anyone who already uses an iPad or tablet for music, it can make practice and performances feel much smoother.
Ready, Set, Glow! 🎶 (Recital Announcement)
Grab your brightest neon and get ready to shine! Our Fall Neon Recital & Party is Saturday, November 14, and we’re giving our students’ big moment a colorful twist. Each performer will share one song on a real stage, cheer on fellow students, and celebrate their progress with family and friends. First time on stage? This is a fun, welcoming place to start!
We’ll have three shows: 12:30–1:30 p.m., 2–3 p.m., and 3:30–4:30 p.m., with just 15 performers per show. Registration is $25 per performer, and guests attend FREE—so bring the cheering section! Students ages 18 and under on any instrument can participate after at least three months with us, and must remain enrolled through November.
Talk with your teacher about choosing a song, start planning your brightest outfit, and reserve your spot here! Let’s make this fall sound—and look—amazing!
Let’s Get the Band Together! 🎸 (Open Jam)
Your practice sessions are about to get some company! Our next Adult Open Jam is Saturday, November 21, at 12:30 p.m., and we’re bringing students ages 16+ together for an afternoon of live music. Step onto a real stage, play with fellow musicians, and enjoy having our teachers right there to help keep the groove going.
We’ll jam to “Brown Eyed Girl,” “Old Time Rock and Roll,” “What’s Up?” and “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Sing, play guitar, keys, bass, or drums—and take a solo if you’re feeling adventurous! We’ll repeat songs and rotate players so everyone gets a turn. Whether you’re new to playing with others or shaking off some rust, there’s room to learn, laugh, and find your rhythm.
Registration is $25 per performer, and participation is open to currently enrolled students. You can bringfriends or family members to hang out and cheer you on. Spots are limited, so save your place at the jam! Your future bandmates are waiting.
