Bio
Alex builds long-term lesson plans around each student’s goals, starting with a 90-day roadmap and a clear picture of where they want to be in a year. In the first few lessons, he focuses on simple, consistent patterns so brand-new players can start performing a recognizable song within their first 2–4 lessons. After 90 days on guitar, students typically know how to tune, name their strings, read basic notes and tabs, and play 3–4 simple songs, often with their first chords and strum patterns. On drums, Alex helps students learn the parts of the kit, lock in a solid rock beat, read drum music, and keep time confidently enough to play along with songs. His students describe him as patient, encouraging, outgoing, and highly organized.
Teaching Strengths

Student Fit & Personality
Best fit students:
Ambitious teens and adults who are curious, like to look things up on their own, and love blues, rock, or metal.
Outside the studio:
When he’s not teaching, Alex is usually playing video games or listening to artists like Plini, Rush, Periphery, Guthrie Govan, Alter Bridge, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin.
Favorite student success story:
One of Alex’s favorite stories is a shy teen student who had never found a hobby that really clicked. Over time, guitar lessons helped her build confidence, discover a love for musical theater, and eventually major in it in college. She’s now a full-time musician.
